Llanwrtyd Show

The Llanwrtyd Wells and District Show took place on Saturday, 17th August 2019. The officials for the show were President Mr and Mrs Willie Jones of Llawrdre; ChairmanTrevor Jones of Penhenwernfach and the Show Secretary is Mrs Hiliary Davies of Ffoysrhyddod, Llanwrtyd Wells.

On a beautiful and blustery sunny day at Ffos Farm, there were a record number of sheep in the different classes and also a record number of vintage tractors. There were various displays including a spectacular falconry display from E & C Falconry Experience. The children’s races commenced at 2 pm with distances ranging from 10 meters for under 4 years to a 100-meter sprint for the over 12 years.

On Sunday, 18th August the annual Strawberry Tea took place in the large marquee and the chosen charity this year was the DPJ Foundation which provides mental health support in agriculture. Daniel James gave a presentation on the vital work the charity does in supporting agricultural workers who suffer from mental health, also in attendance was Emma Picton-Jones representing the Foundation.
