Welcome to Narnia

Narnia comes to Llanwrtyd Wells

On Saturday, December 3rd, more than three hundred people were transported into the world of C S Lewis when the Llanwrtyd & District Heritage & Arts Centre was transformed into the forests of Narnia over the first weekend in December.

Surrounded by the White Witch in her chariot drawn by ferocious-looking polar bears, Mr Tumnus, and the noble Aslan, visitors enjoyed a glass of sherry and mince pie whilst the children participated in activities which included making paper lions, lamp-post book-marks and became the White Witch and Aslan through the wonders of face painting.

The transformation was the work of the Centre’s volunteers who, in addition to the characters designed and painted by local resident Chris Brookes, made and displayed over one hundred snowflakes. The trees were donated by the local forestry management company Pryor & Rickett Silviculture.
