Man v Horse returned with a bang and great excitement after Covid cancellations. The town welcomed the race back and what a race it was! The winner, Ricky Lightfoot, running for Ellenborough AC beat the horse for only the third time in history in a brilliant time of 2hrs, 22min, 33sec. The course was a couple of miles shorter than normal and this probably helped the runner, although the winner is an outstanding trail and fell runner. The Female winner was Victoria Nealon in a time of 2hrs, 56 min, 49 sec. Many of the runners commented on the tough nature of the course where you are either running up or down with very few flat parts. The race demands an army of marshalls and volunteers, and the race would not be possible without a large percentage of the population committing their time to ensure the race runs smoothly.
