Gordon Green

Gordon Green Jubilee Walk

The inaugural Gordon Green Walk took place on Saturday, September 24, 2022, in beautiful clear sunny weather and with great visibility. The walk organised by Green Events was planned to celebrate Gordon Green’s remarkable contribution to tourism and trade and the history of Llanwrtyd Wells. Gordon started Man V Horse and Bog Snorkelling and many other successful events. On the day there were two walks on offer and both converged at the top of Drygawn Fawr, one of the high peaks of the Cambrian mountains. The 11-mile guided long walk started from Abergwesyn village hall and the shorter walk started from LLanerch yfra. Gordon was transported to the top of Drygarn on a Gator, and at the cairn a drinks celebration took place. Back at the Hall tea and cake were served and the Mayor presented Gordon with a plaque and scroll on behalf of Llanwrtyd Town Council. It was a great day enjoyed by visiting and local walkers.
