The 40th anniversary of the famous Man V Horse trail race took place last Saturday, June 8th, 2019. There were over 1000 individual entrants, including the relay runners and 57 horses. The race was won by a horse Wottonheath Herbie ridden by Mark Adams in a time of 2hrs 18minutes and 48 seconds. The first individual runner was Jack Wood from Ilkley Harriers in a time of 2hrs 23 minutes and 48 seconds. The first lady was Faye Johnson in a time of 3hrs 5 minutes and 1 second. The race as usual provided a stiff challenge to all the runners and horses as they navigated through the Cambrian Mountains climbing and descending over 4,000 ft of mixed terrain.
